Why I made this

Hi, I'm Jack. I've created this site as a little songwriting/producing club. This is inspired by many in-person songwriting groups as well as sites such as Songs Alive, I Heart Songwriting Club and 100 Days of Songwriting.

Why ANOTHER site? I like writing software, and AI (I know, I'm sorry) has made this easier. So this site has just what's required, good performance, and is easy to read.

This site is currently invite only. If you're interested, reach out at jack@moo.media, and I'll see if there's a group with some space :) .

Your work stays yours

A plain promise about the music and words you put here:

You keep full copyright and every right to everything you upload.
Posting only grants the minimal licence needed to store your files and show them to your group. Nothing more.
We will never sell your work, hand it to anyone else, or use it to train AI models.
You can download everything anytime, delete any song from its edit page, or delete your whole account whenever you like.

How AI is used here

songs.moo.media uses AI in two ways:

I (Jack) use it to help me code things. It takes some hand holding and doesn't have free rein, but I do use it to speed up my workflows and test things.
Voice memo transcriptions (the ones in comments) use a local model that runs entirely offline, and posts the transcription when it's done. The model literally runs on an old mac mini in my house. Your audio NEVER gets sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, or anyone else. It does mean it might not be as accurate as those models, but I'll take the privacy at the cost of quality here.
